Brooks, who is the son of comedian Mel Brooks, wrote for Saturday Night Live for a couple of years in the early 2000s and also has a "story by" credit on the 2016 movie The Great Wall. Like World War Z before it, this book is partially told from the perspective of a fictional version of Brooks himself in that book, the premise is that he travelled the world interviewing survivors of the zombie apocalypse, and in Devolution, he's conducting a scientific investigation into the Bigfoot tales and reproducing the fictional Kate Holland's journal entries alongside his work. It is described as "part survival narrative, part bloody horror tale, part scientific journey into the boundaries between truth and fiction." The tale is told via the lens of town resident Kate Holland. Rainier that, in the aftermath of a volcanic eruption, is rampaged by ferocious beasts known as the Sasquatch. Last week I travelled to Bathurst to meet with my elders and ponder how - or if - we mark this war on our land as they reminded me, not frontier war, but homeland war. I would think about the declaration of martial law on my people, the Wiradjuri - 200 years ago next year - in the name of the Crown. As competing services, and especially genre-specific ones such as Shudder, continue to expand their horror movie collections, it’s harder and harder for Netflix to project any sense of comprehensiveness, and its library becomes more static and reliant upon Netflix Originals on a monthly basis. Assessing the quality of offerings available from Netflix in 2023, it quickly becomes clear that their horror library is a real mixed bag. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Pickering called the vet again and asked him to come, not for a dog this time, but for the cat.
